What types of products and services does Discovery Lancer offer to the imprinted apparel industry?

We supply to all levels of textile screen printing, heat applied vinyl, die-cut letters and numbers, custom cut logos, and hand-sewn twill products. Our services include providing expert support as a continuing resource to our customers.

What is the difference between "direct printing ink" and "heat transfer ink?"

Direct printing is when inks are directly printed onto a garment. The finished design tends to be soft and flexible.

Heat transfer ink is used for the process of printing onto a paper or film first, and then heat is used to transfer the print onto the garment. This can be helpful for difficult fabrics and overall transport, as 500 transfers are much smaller than 500 printed t-shirts!

What types of inks does Discovery Lancer offer for screen printing?

Our screen printing inks are numerous and include the full range of Lancer textile inks:

  • Excalibur: Our legendary premium plastisol inks.
  • Evolution NX: Our PVC-free plastisol ink.
  • Evolution STI: Our newest silicone ink line.
  • Aqua: Our line of water-based products, including water-based heat transfer inks.

What is the shelf life of your inks?

Our plastisol inks have an indefinite shelf life, but occasionally, oils may separate over time. Simply giving the ink a thorough stir will resolve this issue. We suggest utilizing plastisol inks within a few years of purchase for optimal results.

Our water-based inks (Aqua Series) and silicone-based inks (Evolution STI) have a shelf life of approximately one year.

Do you offer silicone inks?

Absolutely! We carry Lancer’s Evolution STI, a full line of silicone inks designed for both direct-to-print and heat-transfer Inks.

Does Discovery Lancer offer heat transfer inks?

Yes, we do! We have inks that work with cold-peel and hot-peel heat transfer. We also offer specialty heat transfer inks for both water-based and silicone heat transfer systems!

Do you offer any specialized inks, such as glow-in-the-dark or metallic inks?

We offer many special-effect inks, such as glow in the dark, solar change, glitters, and metallics!

Are Discovery Lancer’s inks environmentally friendly or sustainable?

All Lancer Textile Inks are fully phthalate-free and free of heavy metals plus other harmful materials. Lancer’s Evolution line of inks are fully PVC-free and certified both from GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) as well as ZDHC (Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals).

Can you provide colour-matching services to ensure consistency in my designs?

The ColorPro series we offer is a Pantone matching system designed for end-users. This system empowers customers to effortlessly match custom Pantone colors right in their own workspace. Additionally, we provide the convenience of custom mixed colors, saving our customers valuable time and effort. What is the durability of your inks on various types of fabrics?

Our inks undergo rigorous wash tests to ensure they not only meet but exceed the leading brands in durability and health requirements.

Are your inks suitable for use on dark or colored fabrics?

Absolutely! If you are looking to print without an under-base, we have high opacity inks (our 550 Series) that make it easier to print directly on dark/colored fabrics.

What is the composition of your inks, and are they safe for use on textiles?

All Lancer Inks are designed for textile-use. Most plastisol inks are composed from a PVC resin that requires heat to dry. They are all free of phthalates and heavy metals.

Do your inks require special handling or storage?

Most of our ink lines do not need any special handling or storage. In colder environments, ink tends to stiffen, but a quick stir will loosen the ink. Our Aqua Series will need to be sealed after use.

Keep all plastisol away from extreme heat environments, as this could cause premature curing.

Can Discovery Lancer provide any technical specifications or data sheets for your inks?

What is the cure time for Discovery Lancer inks and at what temperature?

Most of our standard inks cure when the ink film reaches 320F and they stay at that temperature for roughly 12-15 seconds. For inks that cure at a lower temperature for more heat sensitive fabrics, we recommend our Performance Plus Series.

What are your hours of operation?

Our team is available Monday – Friday from 8:00am – 4:00pm (CST). We do observe statutory holidays.

What is your return policy?

If the product(s) have not been used, we will accept a full return. We do charge a 25% restocking fee for incorrectly ordered items.

Where does Discovery Lancer ship to?

We ship across Canada and the USA! We also have multiple international dealers, which means we can do our best to accommodate areas outside our immediate shipping areas.

What are the lead times for orders?

Standard orders have a 1-3 business day turnaround time. However, please contact us if you have a tighter deadline, and we can do our best to meet your needs. We do recommend contacting us for a turnaround time for large custom orders.

We accept Visa and Mastercard. If you’re in Canada, we also accept e-transfers and Visa-Debit cards.

Does Discovery Lancer have any regular sales?

Yes, we do! We offer different sales and promotions every month. Sometimes the sales are week to week or run bi-weekly.

Are there bulk discounts for larger orders?

Yes! Our online store offers price breaks for larger quantities. For instance, when you order a case of adhesive spray instead of just two cans, you’ll enjoy a bulk price break. Additionally, yardage items are progressively cheaper the more you order!

What is the minimum order quantity for Discovery Lancer products?

The only minimum order quantity we have is on bulk materials. We have a minimum order of two (2) yards on any bulk yardage.

Does Discovery Lancer have any product warranties or guarantees?

All Discovery Lancer products are guaranteed to be defect-free, or we will gladly replace the affected products.

Due to the nature of the imprinting industry, we require customers to conduct due diligence tests to ensure proper product applicability and suitability before production.
