Technical Details

For direct printing:

Stencil: All types
Mesh: 700 Series Metallic inks will print thru 80 to 110/inch (32T to 44T/cm). 700 Series Glitter inks will print thru 24-30/inch (10-12T/cm). 700 Series Glow-in-the-Dark ink will print thru 80-160/inch (32-64/cm).
Reducer: 501 Curable Reducer or 502 Viscosity Reducer. 501 Curable Reducer can be used in virtually any quantity, keep in mind it will effect opacity when added in excessive amounts. 502 Viscosity Reducer should be used in limited quantities of 2-4% by weight. The addition of excessive amounts of 502 Viscosity Reducer will increase the curing times. Reducers will increase ink flow and help reduce build up. **Please note that inks should be thoroughly stirred prior to printing, inks are thixotropic and will naturally reduce with stirring.
Squeegee: Use a medium (70) durometer as a minimum, but a triple durometer (70/90/70) is optimal.
Curing: 700 Series inks will cure at a temperatures between 325-335F (163-169C). Because of the bright reflective nature of Metallics, extra time may be required. Glitter inks will require extra curing time because of the very heavy deposit of ink. The entire thickness of ink must reach said temperature to achieve a full cure. Tests for product compatibility should always be conducted prior to production runs.
Clean up: TR Blend or 2000 Green

For Cold Peel Transfers:

Paper: Transfert 75, for High Gloss Transfers use G-97 Glitter Trans paper. Litho Transfers should be printed on high gloss paper.
Stencil: All types
Mesh: 700 Series Metallic inks will print thru 80 to 110/inch (32T to 44T/cm). 700 Series Glitter inks will print thru 24-30/inch (10-12T/cm).
Reducer: If necessary 501 Curable Reducer may be added in small amounts. **Please note that inks should be thoroughly stirred prior to printing, inks are thixotropic and will naturally reduce with stirring.
Squeegee: Use a medium (70) durometer.
Method: Print plastisol onto release paper. The ink must be semi-cured or gelled through a dryer. It is important not to fully cure the ink. The easiest way to check is to peel away the ink film after drying. If it is not wet but breaks apart easily, the ink is probably over-cured. If ink is over-cured, poor transfer to fabric and poor washability will result. For Litho transfers, litho inks are printed on high gloss paper. The paper is then screen printed. Portions of the design are printed with the 700 Series inks and the rest is printed with 555 litho white to give a combination effect. White is printed first where desired with a 110/inch (44T/cm) mesh and the 700 series is printed last.
Clean up: TR-Blend or 2000 Green
Transfer Application: Transfer your image at 350F (177C) for 10-15 seconds with medium pressure.
